Understanding the Legacy of Weathernews

January 1970, Fukushima, Japan. An explosive low-pressure system devastates Onahama port, causing a cargo vessel to sink and claiming 15 lives. Limited weather information hindered risk assessment. Driven by a sense of responsibility, Hiro Ishibashi founded Weather-news in 1986, revolutionizing private weather forecasting. Today, our services encompass various sectors, but our core mission remains unchanged: safeguarding lives at sea and optimizing offshore operations. Weathernews is committed to 'help out in times of need', with our dedicated staff embodying this mission.
