About This Outlook
Driven by our founding mission to protect mariners' lives and help in times of crisis, Weathernews is providing this general weather trend as a reference for the public and stakeholders monitoring the Strait of Hormuz and the Middle East.
For a limited time, Weathernews is publicly disclosing port forecasts for the Middle East via our platform SeaNavigator Free. We monitor highly congested ports and areas facing adverse weather, updating four times daily with 48-hour, 5-day, and 7-day outlooks.
Weathernews Maritime Forecaster comment:
April 27th to April 28th: From today, April 27th, through tomorrow, April 28th, southerly winds blowing into a low-pressure system centered near Iraq will strengthen slightly over the northern Persian Gulf. Caution is advised in Kuwait and northern Saudi Arabia, where average wind speeds are expected to increase to 20–30 kt (10–15 m/s).
Mid-Week (April 30th): By mid-week on the 30th, a high-pressure system is expected to be positioned over the northern Arabian Peninsula, with a low-pressure system to the south. While no significant strengthening of winds is currently forecast, this pressure pattern makes the Persian Gulf susceptible to stronger northerly winds. Even a slight intensification of the low-pressure system could lead to stronger winds and higher waves. Please continue to monitor the latest forecasts.
Late Week to the Weekend: From late in the week through the weekend, a low-pressure system near the Pakistan-India border will intensify slightly. Westerly winds will strengthen near the Strait of Hormuz, with average wind speeds occasionally exceeding 20 kt (10 m/s).

Surface pressure, wind and wave patterns over the Middle East, valid April 27, 2026, 1200UTC
