Port Forecast Alert Threshold

■ DUQM, Oman

Both wind and gusts exceed their respective Yellow Caution thresholds from the start of the period, peaking in the afternoon before easing below the thresholds by 23:00 LT. Waves remain below alert levels throughout July 17.
Wind: Winds open at the 20 kts Yellow Caution threshold at 04:00 LT before climbing to a peak of 24 kts at 19:00 LT, then easing back to the threshold at 22:00 LT and dropping to 19 kts by 23:00 LT. Winds continue to taper to 17 kts by 01:00–03:00 LT.
Gust: Gusts start at the 30 kts Yellow Caution threshold at 04:00–05:00 LT, building to a peak of 35 kts at 10:00–13:00 LT and again at 19:00 LT before easing to the threshold at 22:00 LT and dropping to 29 kts by 23:00 LT. Gusts then subside to 25 kts by 03:00 LT.
Significant wave height rises gradually from 2.1 m at 04:00–11:00 LT to a peak of 2.4 m at 16:00–23:00 LT before easing to 2.2 m by 03:00 LT.
■ KARACHI, Pakistan

Winds and gusts remain steady and below alert thresholds throughout July 17. Significant wave height exceeds the 2.5 m Yellow Caution threshold for the entire period, building steadily through the day and night.
Wind: Winds ease from 14 kts at 05:00 LT to a minimum of 13 kts at 07:00–10:00 LT before gradually climbing to a peak of 18 kts by 04:00 LT.
Gust: Gusts hold at 20 kts from 05:00–10:00 LT before steadily building to a peak of 26 kts by 03:00–04:00 LT.
Significant wave height remains above the 2.5 m Yellow Caution threshold throughout the entire period, holding at 2.5 m from 05:00–18:00 LT before rising steadily to a peak of 2.9 m by 04:00 LT.
■ REDI, India

Winds and gusts remain light and below alert thresholds throughout July 17. Significant wave height starts just below the Yellow Caution threshold before rising above it from 13:30 LT and building through the night.
Wind: Winds ease from 7 kts at 05:30 LT to a minimum of 6 kts at 07:30–09:30 LT before gradually building to a peak of 15 kts by 02:30–04:30 LT.
Gust: Gusts drop from 11 kts at 05:30 LT to a minimum of 9 kts at 07:30–09:30 LT before climbing steadily to a peak of 23 kts by 02:30–04:30 LT.
Significant wave height holds at 2.4 m from 05:30–12:30 LT before rising to exceed the 2.5 m Yellow Caution threshold from 13:30 LT, peaking at 2.8 m at 02:30–04:30 LT.
