About This Outlook

As part of our ongoing commitment to protect mariners' lives and help in times of crisis, Weathernews previously provided daily and weekly port weather highlights for the Strait of Hormuz and the Middle East. With the change of seasons and the onset of the Southwest Monsoon, we are now shifting our focus to port forecast snapshots across the Indian Ocean and South Asia — offering this as a reference for the public and stakeholders monitoring monsoon progression and adverse sea conditions in the region.

Reports are updated four times daily and include 48-hour, 5-day and 7-day outlooks for your use.

Weathernews Maritime Forecaster comment:

The Northern Indian Ocean remains under the continuous influence of the southwest monsoon.

Across the central and northern Arabian Sea, conditions are expected to persist with average wind speeds of 20–25 knots and significant wave heights of around 3.0–3.5 meters. Off the coasts of Oman and northwestern India, winds may temporarily strengthen to around 30 knots, with wave heights reaching near 4.0 meters.

The Bay of Bengal will also see building seas toward the end of the week; caution is advised for wave heights of 3.0–3.5 meters in the southern to central areas from the 20th onward. While no significant intensification is expected this week, the southwest monsoon remains active.
