With the change of seasons and the onset of the Southwest Monsoon, we are now shifting our focus to port forecast snapshots across the Indian Ocean and South Asia — offering this as a reference for the public and stakeholders monitoring monsoon progression and adverse sea conditions in the region.

Reports are updated four times daily and include 48-hour, 5-day and 7-day outlooks for your use.

In the Arabian Sea this week, westerly monsoon winds are expected to continue. In the first half of the week, average wind speeds of 10–20 kt and significant wave heights of 2.5–3.5 m are expected near Socotra Island, but both winds and waves are likely to subside in the second half of the week. Meanwhile, in the Bay of Bengal, waves are expected to remain somewhat high, particularly in the southern part, with significant wave heights of 2.5–3.5 m.
