Port Forecast Alert Threshold

■ KARACHI, Pakistan

The primary weather concern for Karachi today is elevated wave heights reaching cautionary levels in the afternoon, accompanied by winds and gusts touching their respective caution thresholds.

Wind: Sustained winds remain steady, briefly touching the Yellow Caution threshold (20 kts) between 14:00 LT and 17:00 LT before settling back to 17–19 kts.

Gust: Wind gusts follow a similar pattern, reaching the Yellow Caution mark (30 kts) during the mid-afternoon (14:00 LT to 17:00 LT) before slightly subsiding.

Wave: Significant wave heights cross into Yellow Caution status (> 2.5m) starting around 13:00 LT, peaking at approximately 2.7m at 17:00 LT, and remaining elevated through the evening.

■ KHALIFA, United Arab Emirates

Weather conditions at Khalifa Port will start moderate in the morning but steadily improve to calm conditions by the evening, with no alerts expected.

Wind: Wind speeds peak early at roughly 17 kts between 10:00 LT and 13:00 LT, safely below the 20 kts Caution mark, and decline to a light 8–9 kts by the evening.

Gust: Morning gusts peak at approximately 26 kts around 13:00 LT and drop significantly throughout the afternoon, resting near 11–13 kts.

Wave: Significant wave heights begin near 2.0m in the morning and steadily decrease to a very calm 0.8m by the end of the day.

■ RAS GHARIB, Egypt

The main weather highlight for Ras Gharib is persistent cautionary winds and gusts throughout the day, alongside wave heights approaching the caution threshold by late afternoon.

Wind: Sustained winds cross into Yellow Caution status (> 20 kts) around 08:00 LT and remain steadily elevated between 21–23 kts for the remainder of the forecast period.

Gust: Wind gusts trigger a continuous Yellow Caution alert (> 30 kts) starting at 08:00 LT, fluctuating between 32 kts and 34 kts through the evening.

Wave: Significant wave heights show a steady increase, rising from 1.7m in the early morning to touch the Yellow Caution threshold (2.5m) around 18:00 LT before slightly easing.
