Port Forecast Alert Threshold

■ NEW MANGALORE, India

Light to moderate winds and gusts remain highly stable and below alert levels throughout the day. Conversely, rough sea conditions persist, keeping wave heights well above cautionary limits for the duration of the period.

Wind: Winds begin at a low of 8 kts at 05:00 LT before gently climbing to a peak of 12 kts at 10:00–11:00 LT and again at 19:00–20:00 LT, otherwise holding around 10 to 11 kts.

Gust: Gusts track the sustained winds closely, starting at 12 kts at 05:00 LT and reaching a maximum of 18 kts at 11:00 LT and 19:00–20:00 LT before settling.

Wave: Significant wave height exceeds the 2.5 m Yellow Caution threshold for the entire period, fluctuating minimally between 3.0 m at 05:00–09:00 LT and 13:00–15:00 LT, and 3.1 m at 10:00–12:00 LT and 16:00–23:00 LT.

■ JAIGARH, India

Light winds and gusts drop to their lowest speeds between 10:00 and 15:00 LT before mildly strengthening. Sea conditions remain elevated throughout the period, with wave heights breaching cautionary limits from 05:00–06:00 LT and again from 19:00–23:00 LT.

Wind: Winds start at 10 kts at 05:00 LT, dropping to a low of 6 kts from 10:00–15:00 LT, and slowly building to 11 kts by 20:00–23:00 LT.

Gust: Gusts track the sustained wind pattern, beginning at 15 kts at 05:00 LT, falling to a minimum of 9 kts at 11:00–12:00 LT, and subsequently climbing to 16 kts from 20:00–23:00 LT.

Wave: Significant wave height starts at 2.6 m at 05:00–06:00 LT, exceeding the 2.5 m Yellow Caution threshold, before settling to 2.5 m from 07:00–18:00 LT and returning to 2.6 m to once again breach the caution mark between 19:00–23:00 LT.

■ KARWAR, India

Winds and gusts steadily build throughout the day but remain below alert limits. Conversely, sea conditions are exceptionally rough, with wave heights exceeding the Yellow Caution threshold for the entire period and escalating into Red Warning territory from 19:00 LT onward.

Wind: Winds start at 12 kts at 05:00 LT and gradually increase over the period, reaching a peak of 17 kts at 22:00–23:00 LT.

Gust: Gusts follow a similar upward trend, beginning at 18 kts at 05:00 LT and steadily climbing to a maximum of 25 kts at 22:00–23:00 LT.

Wave: Significant wave height holds at 3.4 m from 05:00–15:00 LT, persistently exceeding the 2.5 m Yellow Caution threshold, before building to 3.6 m at 19:00–23:00 LT and pushing past the 3.5 m Red Warning limit.
