Conditions deteriorate sharply on July 30, with winds, gusts, and waves surging through multiple threshold levels between 13:00 and 20:00 LT before easing rapidly toward the close of the period. All three parameters reach Red Warning levels at their respective peaks.
Wind: Winds start at 9 kts at 05:00 LT and remain below the 20 kts Yellow Caution threshold through 12:00 LT before climbing steeply, exceeding Yellow Caution to 23 kts at 13:00 LT and breaching the 30 kts Red Warning threshold at 15:00-17:00 LT with a peak of 35 kts. Conditions ease rapidly, dropping below 20 kts by 20:00 LT and falling to 3 kts by 23:00 LT.
Gust: Gusts start at 14 kts at 03:00 LT before building sharply, breaching the 30 kts Yellow Caution threshold at 14:00 LT and surging to a peak of 52 kts at 15:00 LT—exceeding the 45 kts Red Warning threshold from 15:00-17:00 LT. Gusts ease quickly, dropping below the Yellow Caution threshold by 20:00 LT.
Wave: Significant wave height holds below 2.5m from 03:00–12:00 LT before rising steeply, breaching the 2.5 m Yellow Caution threshold at 13:00 LT and the 3.5 m Red Warning threshold at 14:00 LT. Heights peak at 4.6 m at 15:00 LT before easing below Red Warning at 19:00 LT and below Yellow Caution by 21:00 LT.
■ MUMBAI, India
Wind and gusts build steadily on July 30, both exceeding Yellow Caution thresholds from 14:00 LT onward and peaking around 17:00–18:00 LT before easing below alert levels. Waves climb gradually through the day but remain below caution levels throughout.
Wind: Winds hold at 17-19 kts from 05:00–12:00 LT before ticking up to reach the 20 kts Yellow Caution threshold at 13:00 LT, peaking at 23 kts at 17:00 LT. Conditions ease back below 20 kts by 20:00 LT and settle at 19 kts through 22:00 LT before reaching back to the Yellow Caution threshold at 23:00 LT at 20 kts.
Gust: Gusts start at 26 kts at 05:00 LT and build steadily, breaching the 30 kts Yellow Caution threshold at 14:00 LT and peaking at 35 kts at 17:00 LT before tapering to 29 kts by 22:00 LT. Gusts reached back to the Yellow Caution threshold at 23:00 LT at 30 kts.
Wave: Significant wave height starts at 1.5 m at 05:00 LT and climbs gradually through the day, reaching a peak of 2.3 m at 18:00 LT before easing to 1.8 m by 22:00–23:00 LT but remains well belw the Yellow Caution threshold throughout the day.
■ NEW MANGALORE, India
Significant wave heights remain above the 2.5 m Yellow Caution threshold throughout July 30, building steadily and breaching the 3.5 m Red Warning threshold from 19:00 LT onward. Winds and gusts hold at moderate levels well below alert thresholds for the duration.
Wind: Winds remain steady between 15–16 kts throughout the day before ticking up slightly to 17 kts at 23:00 LT.
Gust: Gusts start at 23 kts at 05:00 LT, easing briefly to 22 kts at 10:00–11:00 LT before recovering to 23–25 kts and reaching a peak of 26 kts by 23:00 LT.
Wave: Significant wave height opens at 3.1 m at 05:00 LT — already well above the 2.5 m Yellow Caution threshold — and builds continuously through the day, breaching the 3.5 m Red Warning threshold at 19:00 LT and peaking at 3.6 m by 22:00–23:00 LT.
